THE MAIN STAGES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERPARLIAMENTARY RELATIONS BETWEEN UZBEKISTAN AND TURKEY IN 2017-2026

Abstract

This article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the main stages of the development of parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the period from 2017 to 2026. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that during this period parliamentary diplomacy has transformed from a formal feature of interstate relations into an effective tool for implementing foreign policy and protecting national interests. The qualitative transition in the relationship is studied in detail: from the initial resumption of political trust to reaching the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership. The article analyzes in detail the regulatory framework of cooperation, including the Resolution “On the approval of the Concept of Parliamentary Diplomacy of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, which became the basis for the systematization of the activities of legislative bodies.

Based on an in-depth study of official documents (including resolutions of the Oliy Majlis and laws on ratification of bilateral agreements), the article identifies and characterizes three historical stages of the evolution of relations. Special emphasis is placed on the mechanisms of practical cooperation: the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups, the activities of specialized committees for monitoring roadmaps and cooperation within multilateral structures such as TurkPA.
