HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE POPULATION'S INVOLVEMENT IN PUBLIC LABOR IN THE KOKAND KHANATE

Abstract
This article analyzes the historiography of the mobilization of the population for public works in the Kokand Khanate. The study examines scientific literature and historical sources on the khanate’s socio-economic life, tax system, and labor obligations, as well as the views of A. Juvonmardiyev, The views of A. Juvonmardiyev, R. Nabiyev, H. Bobobekov, and other scholars are comparatively analyzed. The article sheds light on the forms of mobilizing the population for the construction of irrigation facilities, beautification, defense, and household work, as well as the manifestations of labor obligations such as “hashar,” “mardikor solig‘i,” and “jamarg‘ayi yurtiya”.
