Abstract
This article analyzes the history of Western research into Timurid book arts, bookbinding, paper production, and miniature schools during the early 20th century. The study highlights the scholarly contributions of European researchers such as P. Adam, T. Gottlieb, J. Karabacek, F. R. Martin, and J. Loubier, tracing their impact on the field. Furthermore, it demonstrates how the exhibitions of Oriental and Islamic art held in Berlin and Munich in 1910 served as a critical foundation for introducing Timurid book masterpieces to the global scientific community and paving the way for subsequent systematic research.
