ON THE FORMATION OF KOKAND AS THE CENTER OF TRADE AND ECONOMIC LIFE OF THE TURKESTAN GENERAL GOVERNMENT (LATE XIX TH - EARLY XX TH CENTURIES)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article is devoted to the trade and economic relations of the Turkestan
region with the Russian Empire in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in
particular, the role of the city of Kokand in the trade and economic life of the
Turkestan Governorate General. The study provides historical facts that the
government of tsarist Russia created more comfortable conditions for conducting
colonial financial policy in the region and sought to integrate its financial
institutions into the Central Asian region. The integration of Russian financial
institutions had an impact on the further penetration of imperial capital, mainly into
the cotton industry.
